ebay Car Thieves: Black 1949 Chevy Truck Stolen Out of Medina County, Texas 7/8/2007 - Case Number: 07-02625
Story:
Friday night (7/6/2007): The ebay (ebay.com) auction ended at midnight, Friday night. Two people were bidding on an old truck and drove the price up to $9600, despite the 'buy it now' price of $9000.
Sunday morning (7/8/2007): The winner was "Derrick Colbert" (ebay ID: 4664derrick, ebay ID: dcolbert78) and used phone number 770-597-9418 (This area code could be in Atlanta, Georgia) to arrange meeting with transport company.
Sunday afternoon (7/8/2007 5:30pm): The transport company guy loaded truck onto the trailer. The 'transporter' provided his commercial drivers license: TXDL: 11447830. Name showed 'Kevin Dwayne Gause'. Address is 106 Woodland (or Woodlands) Ct. Ovilla TX 75154. Birthday is 4/9/69 - a very tall and large black man. The black LandRover had damage to the grill and no license plates. There was a cardboard license plate in the rear window (temporary dealer plate). The trailer did have a license plate. The trailer's license plate read: L73 WSP. The trailer had 2 wheels on each side (4 total). The trailer was a flat-bed trailer (no guard rails along the side or back). A yellow tie-down(s) was used to tie the truck to the trailer. [Update: A trailer was also reported stolen under similar circumstances.] He passed a cashier's check and title will be provided when the check has cleared the bank. With 'transporter' present, a call was placed to 'Derrick Colbert'. There are at least 2 people involved in the con (organized crime). [Other: The Ovilla, TX address is also linked to the name "Monjeed Otuemhobe" by a web search of the address.] [Update: The license plate is linked back to a black woman named 'Kirby Denise Jones' in DeSoto (near Ovilla). The license plate is also linked to a car (Chrysler), not a trailer.]
Monday morning (7/9/2007 9am): The bank (Chase on Marbach in San Antonio, Texas) confirmed the check is fake.

1. The license plate from the trailer (L73 WSP) is linked to DeSoto (also South of Dallas). The license plate is linked back to a black woman named 'Kirby Denise Jones' in DeSoto, Texas.
2. The telephone number 972-977-7776 (Dallas area code) was linked directly to '4664derrick' by a different ebay user (4664derrick bought car with cashier's check). A google search of the telephone number resulted in a website with pictures of a black man. Possibly related? Brother? Cousin? 3. The name 'Derrick Jimerson' may also be linked to the phone number above. Another Jimerson in Mesquite, TX is Laquita Jimerson (972) 329-6028 at 2022 Spiceberry Ln, Mesquite, TX 75149. Other Derrick Jimerson's in the area include: (1) Derrick Lewand Jimerson (DOB 04-16-68), TXDL 014388435 of 1147 Oak Meadows Dr in Dallas, TX 75232 (Class I license# 011213153) - Previous address: 505 Missionary Ridge in Desoto, TX 75115 and (2) Derrick Demon Jimerson (DOB 03-28-1988), TXDL 022182213 of 1816 Dynasty Dr in Glenheights (Red Oak), TX 75154 was arrested for theft (offense date June 4, 2006, filing date June 30, 2006).

8. John Gause of 108 Spring Grove may be related to Kevin Dwayne Gause because (1) same last name, (2) same county, (3) same basic appearance (large, black man). 9. A trailer was also reported stolen about the same time - in a similar way (TXDL: Kevin Dwayne Gause). The trailer may be the same type used to pick up and tow the 1949 Chevy truck.

2. The name used on eBay and throughout the fraud is 'Derrick Colbert'. Derrick Colbert is one of 23 alias of Desmon Vachonn Phinazee DOB 7/17/1973, Black male, 5'9" 175 lbs, tattoo on left arm. FBI database #: 770165NA4. Arrested for Terroristic Threats (2 years probation). This person has been linked to Georgia.
